Sunny, but windy weather conditions met golfers on Tuesday at the Woodward Golf Course for an 18 hole tournament of boys’ high school golf hosted by Woodward-Granger. Greene County finished in third place among six teams with a score of 347. The host Hawks won the event with 321 strokes, followed by Earlham at 336, then the Rams. I-35 (Truro) was fourth at 358, with Colfax-Mingo at 366, and Saydel (Des Moines) 388.
Coach Kyle Kinne reports the Rams were led by junior Drew Wolterman at 85, followed by freshman Keaton Hinote and junior Nathan Towers both at 87, and junior Carter Hinote 88. The coach said the nine hole course was played twice by the players and he was happy to see the Rams shoot 32 shots less the second time around the course.
