Last night the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs girls soccer team hosted the Valley Tigers and picked up a 1-0 victory over the Tigers. The Mustangs now advance to 3-2-1 and prepare for action on Tuesday against the Indianola Indians at home.

The Mustangs and the Tigers would have a great defensive battle for most of the match, as the first half would remain scoreless with Valley holding onto possession for most of the first half. This battle would continue into the second half, but senior Alex Gill would find an opening off of a ricochet from about 20 yards to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. Gill would also be the first to score against Valley this season, who had remained undefeated until this 1-0 fall against Dallas Center Grimes.

The Mustangs girls now advance to 3-2-1 and prepare for action on Tuesday against the Indianola Indians at home. The action is set to begin at 7pm.
