Paton-Churdan High School is putting on a play next Saturday.
Co-Director Lacey Cullum says the play is called, “America’s Next Top Model Student” and it is about three judges and two hosts that have a series of hilarious elimination rounds that start with ten contestants, and the final two are given a surprise challenge. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that after the music teacher, Shannon Hobbs, selected a few different plays for her and co-director Angel Weier, they knew they wanted to do this one as soon as they found out the plot.
Lacey says the main cast includes Grace Cullum, Joel Duckett, and Lily Trecker as the judges; with Ella Tasler and Anatasia Hobbs playing the hosts. Lacey points out that since rehearsals started in early March, the students have been doing great getting to know their characters and really knowing them. She notes that one of the main challenges is that with a 20 member cast and with students involved in various other activities, work or clubs and organizations, it has been difficult to find where everyone can be together, but she is proud of how they have been able to do that.
There are only two performances next Saturday at 2pm and 7pm in the Paton-Churdan auditorium. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door. The doors will open about 30 minutes prior to each show starting.
