On Tuesday the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs soccer teams faced off against the Newton Cardinals and both Mustang teams would put on a clinic against the Cardinals, securing shut out victories. In Newton, the Mustang girls would defeat the Cardinals 10-0 in 54 minutes while the Mustang boys would shut out Newton at home, 6-0.

The #2 ranked Mustang girls would strike fast and early, scoring an impressive 9 goals in the first half, and ending the game by the 10 goal rule in the 54th minute. DCG would be relentless on the pitch, scoring 10 goals while forcing the Cardinal keeper to save 13 attempts.

In the boys contest, the now #1 ranked Mustangs would also strike early, scoring 2 goals in the first half and 4 in the second. For DCG, Almin Islamovic would score a goal, Hudson Heidgerken would score twice, and Colin Mandernach would achieve the hat trick to achieve the 6-0 victory over Newton.

The Mustang girls advance to 5-3-1 while the boys advance to 8-2-2. Both teams are back in action tomorrow in separate locations, as the boys travel to Muscatine while girls help host the DCG/Urbandale Invite.
