For the first time in a decade, Paton-Churdan is bringing back a unique fundraiser with some unusual entertainment.

Donkey Basketball will be in the P-C gymnasium on Sunday starting at 7pm and organizer Makayla Sparr says there has only been two other times that the school has had Donkey Basketball, including 2006 and 2015. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they wanted to bring the fun and unique fundraiser back to entice alumni to come back and play in some of the games, introducing the current students to a “one-of-a-kind” activity, and it is an overall great memory for everyone to have.

Sparr notes that there are going to be three games, including a student versus staff, then two alumni teams against each other, with the final championship game to end the night. Tickets are $9 in advance or $13 at the door, and those who are preschool age and younger get in for free. Donkey jockeys do not need a ticket. Plus, Sparr says free donkey rides are for kids 12 and younger that will be done between each game.

Sparr adds that this is a fundraiser for the Student Council and National Honor Society programs so they can do other fun activities in the future. Additionally, the Paton-Churdan Early Learning Center will also have a popcorn stand at the event. Use the QR code that is with the image on top to purchase tickets.
