Tonight will be used as a make up date for Perry soccer’s postponement with Nevada. Originally scheduled for Monday night, the Jayettes and Bluejays will square off with the Cubs at Dewey Field for a doubleheader this evening.
The schedule tonight features the top teams in the Heart of Iowa Conference. All four clubs remain perfect in conference matches. Action begins tonight at 5:30P for the girls and the boys will follow approximately 7:15P.
The girls are coming off a loss Thursday night to Panorama 6-2. Tonight they will look for their first win over the Cubs since joining the HOIC. The boys haven’t had much luck either falling in four of the last five to Nevada. They are however fresh off a 10-0 victory over Panorama Thursday night. A win for either Perry team would clinch at least a share in the conference race.
Coach Overla tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Nevada had graduated a decent amount of talent from previous seasons, but still expects a goo contest. “They will play more of a possession game. I’m not going to stay there down, but they’ve lost some some senior leadership. I’m sure they have plenty in the back it up.” He added that they are extremely well coached.
Dewey Field will host the girl/boy doubleheader this evening.
