The lead figure of a local business recently received recognition.
Panora Fiber President and General Manager Andrew Randol was recognized by the President of the Iowa Communications Alliance (ICA) with the organization’s President’s Award. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the award is given by the president of the current year to someone they believe has been extremely helpful to them during their one year term as the organization’s president. Randol shares his thoughts on receiving the award.
“It meant a lot because Jamie’s younger than I, and a lot of people are in this business anymore. But to have him think that I helped him and made a difference, it made me feel good. It’s like, sometimes the wiley veterans wonder, ‘Do we make a difference? Does our knowledge matter?’ And to have somebody younger like Jamie validate some of the things you do, it made me happy.”
Randol mentions that the ICA is an organization made up of independent small broadband providers throughout the state, and that they have around 120 members at this time. He adds that another thing the group does is meet in Washington DC with Iowa’s Congressional Representatives and Senators.
