Last night the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs girls track team traveled to Waukee for the Waukee Invite and placed seventh overall as a team. Freshman Leighton Stanford would find success, as she would help the Mustang 800 sprint medley team place second, and would place first by herself in the 400 meter dash.

Stanford would help the Mustangs score 16 of the teams 40 points as she would score 6 with the 800 sprint medley team and 10 points from her first place finish. Stanford would cross the finish line in 59.44 seconds to claim first place for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs are out of action until Thursday, as Dallas Center-Grimes plays hosts to: Indianola, Newton, Norwalk, Oskaloosa, Pella, and Pella Christian for the Little Hawkeye Conference Meet. The conference meet is set to begin at 4:30pm.
