The West Central Activities Conference Art Show will be held at Panorama tomorrow and Monday.
Panorama Art Director Ginger Lindstrom says that planning for the event began at the start of the 2024-25 school year, working to bring together student artists, professional creators and educators. She mentions that there are two major components to the art show, the first part being the judging by professional artists and the second being interactive workshops or demonstrations from guest artists.
This year’s judges include Gina Lloyd, Jami Boldy and Diane Kunzler. The guest artists include Kunzler, a painter and ceramist, potter Greg Lamont, T & K Design owner Courtney Hodges and artist and musician Chad Elliott. Kunzler will hold a workshop on her creative process, while Lamont will demonstrate pottery techniques. Hodges will host a t-shirt screenprinting demonstration at her shop in Panora, while Elliott will share painting techniques and perform music in the afternoon.
Tomorrow the art show will be open to the public, with art set up for viewing in the Panorama Middle School Gymnasium from 1-4pm. Lindstrom explains that there is a $6 conference charge for those wishing to attend, though students with art on display may enter for free. Monday the event will take place from 9am to 2:30pm.
