Information about a topic that is going on in Iowa and in rural areas of the state, will be shared with a free program tomorrow in Jefferson.

Stacy Besch, with Team Iowa, will be showing the documentary “Gridshock: A Film About Sex Trafficking in Iowa” by Vanessa McNeal. Besch tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the film will explain what human trafficking is, the individuals that are involved, defining what a “John” is called, and breaking down the laws that are in place and how prevalent this is in Iowa. Following the documentary, Besch will be going into more detail about human trafficking in rural areas and what people can do to help.

Her goal is to give this program to all 900 communities in the state.

“I really feel this sense of urgency to get out there, and especially to communities before school gets out. Because once school gets out, our children are going to be even preyed upon more because most of it (human trafficking) is coming from online, not from where people think it’s coming from.”

Sunday’s free program begins at 7pm at the Greene County High School auditorium.
