Heads up to youth and families that utilize the Jefferson Public Library, a project is going to take place later this week and so things will look temporarily different.
Youth Services Librarian Bailey Mount talks about the kind of project that is scheduled to happen starting tomorrow through Wednesday.
“We recently got funding to replace all of our lights in the Carnegie building, which is where I’m located. So the top floor is me, the bottom floor is the basement (and) that’s genealogy (and) it’s our programming space. All of the lights are going to be replaced with LED. So not only is it more cost effective and it’s also more environmentally friendly.”
The library received a $5,100 grant from the Greene County Community Foundation and Mount is thrilled for the upgrade.
“And I’m just excited that the community continues to have a vested interest in improving the building that we’re in, especially since it’s a historical one.”
Mount adds that while the youth department is closed to patrons on Tuesday and Wednesday, the staff will still be able to access the space to retrieve any item someone may be looking for.
