In the April joint meeting of the Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School Boards, a new curriculum was discussed.

Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that the Boards are looking at adopting the Wit and Wisdom curriculum for the elementary schools. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that a committee has been looking into a new reading curriculum for the last year and a half.

“Carla Mahaffey, our Curriculum Director, presented to the boards. Just to inform them of the process we went through and how we came to choosing ‘Wit and Wisdom,’ and how it aligns with the science of reading and everything else that we do in our elementary buildings. So presented that information to the boards and answered any questions that they had.”

Rasmussen mentions that the new curriculum was only discussed in the April meeting, and that the purchase of the materials to implement the curriculum will come during their May meeting.
