An event is being held tomorrow in the Perry community with Dallas County Habitat for Humanity.

The organization is holding an open house for a property along Lucinda Street (1823 Lucinda Street) in Perry for a brand new renovated home. According to Community Partnership Coordinator Lindsey Van Wyk, the space offers two bedrooms and one bathroom, which is suitable for either one individual or two people.

She explains that a representative from the Habitat Financial Services Team will be on site to answer any questions regarding the mortgage process, then will be able to discuss next steps with interested parties. Van Wyk is hoping to see lots of faces as well as clarify information around a habitat home.

“I think there might be some misconceptions about maybe what affordable housing looks like, and this is a nice cute home and we just want to invite anybody in a community that’s interested, certainly folks that think they might qualify for the home to come in and see what a habitat home looks like.”

The open house is taking place tomorrow evening from 5-7pm. Any questions can be directed to Dallas County Habitat for Humanity at (515)-373-1844.
