The Greene County Medical Center invites the public to its annual ceremony to spotlight individuals in the nursing arena.

The DAISY Award and the Partner is Nursing Award will be presented tomorrow at 10am in the medical center main lobby.

According to the medical center, the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is given to a nurse that was nominated by their peers, a patient, a patient’s family, or a community member for going above their normal duties and making a real impact on someone’s life. Last year’s recipient was Sydney Schiltz. Chief Nursing Officer Amanda Lass says she is proud of the entire nursing team at the medical center and there are 15 nominees this year for the award. Lass adds that it is great to see such gratitude displayed by the nominees and their selfless acts to give their very best to the individuals they serve is tremendous.

The Partner in Nursing Award is given to an individual who provides support to the nursing team at the medical center. Nominations are made by the nurses with last year’s honoree being Lauren Goeser. Director of Nursing Jessica Weiss says there are six nominees for that award. A full list of the nominees for both awards can be found below.
