The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday morning.

The Board approved the payroll status changes for Jerri Christman and Alexi Steiner, moving them from part-time to full-time in the Public Health Department. They then approved signing a funding agreement for a bridge project on Tank Avenue off of Monteith Road, and discussed the five year construction plan with County Engineer Josh Sebern.

The Board then tabled a decision on a fiscal year 2025 budget amendment until next week’s regular meeting. They also approved letters of support for New Opportunities projects, including the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program, along with the Head Start and Weatherization Assistance programs in a 4-1 vote. Supervisor Brian Johnson was the lone no vote. He also shared his reason why, stating that he supports the programs, but that events where programs are receiving funding cuts on the federal level are the result of what the people voted for in the previous election. Johnson also mentioned that he wished that there was more that the County could do, but that they couldn’t play both sides of the issue.
