Everyone is invited to the Greene County Fine Arts Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday.
Greene County School District Activities Director David Wright says there are five individuals that are tabbed to be honored this year that includes Dick Oatts, Katy (Von Ahsen) Gordon, Carl Rowles, David Ayala, and Katie Rice. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio people can nominate individuals to be considered by the selection committee to be inducted into the Fine Arts Hall of Fame. With certain criteria that individuals must meet to be eligible for consideration, Wright is shocked about the nominees that get submitted.
“Since we’ve started this, I’m just floored by finding out people about people that I didn’t even know about that had gone on to tremendous careers, and being very instrumental in be as a college music professor, or performer, or whatever it might be, a professional musician. We’ve had several and so this year’s no different.”
The ceremony takes place at 6:30pm at the Greene County High School auditorium, with a reception happening prior to the program at 6pm. There is no cost to attend.
