A meeting will be held tonight in Jefferson with organizations that oppose the underground carbon dioxide pipeline project.

According to Chris Henning with the Iowa Sierra Club, they are co-hosting tonight’s meeting with Bold Alliance, Iowa Easement Team and impacted landowners to educate communities about the carbon capture pipelines and how to prepare affected landowners for the upcoming Iowa Utilities Commission proceedings. Henning says the meeting will include an overview of where the proposed Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline project is with its status, the latest updates from the project’s five-state footprint and look at action plans to get ready for the permit hearings. 

The meeting begins at 7pm in the Jefferson City Hall Council Chambers.
