
Coach Heath Telleen’s Greene County High School girls’ golf team finished in fifth place at the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference tournament on Wednesday east of State Center at Lincoln Valley Golf Course. The Rams shot 448 for 18 holes and were led by senior Maggie Mikkelsen at 107. Juniors Taylor Johnston at 110 and Calleigh Fitzpatrick at 112 were next for the Rams. Junior Alivia Cornell was fourth for the Rams at 119. Low scorer on the season for the Rams, Maya Telleen, suffered a disqualification and her score did not count in the team total.
Roland-Story tory City) won the team title with 356 strokes. Nevada was next at 371, followed by West Marshall 385, PCM (Monroe) 401, the Rams at 448, Perry with 470, and South Hamilton (Jewell) 498. Saydel (Des Moines) did not have enough players for a full team.
The girls are in action today at The Hill Golf Course west of Grand Junction vs. Fort Dodge Senior High.
Greene County’s boys golf team is at the Jewell Golf & Country Club today hosted by South Hamilton.
