It’s National Teacher Appreciation Week and an administrator with the Perry Community School District recognizes all the hard work done by their staff.

Middle School Principal Ned Menke shares that the week has been filled with students delivering gifts to various teachers as well as several parents that have personally thanked staff members when they’ve dropped off their children at school. He details that Superintendent Clark Wicks and the Perry School Board delivered treats to teachers on Wednesday, followed by the Parent-Teacher Organization serving food from a restaurant  to the staff today, and then tomorrow Menke and Associate Principal Adam Jessen will be doing a grill out of hamburgers and hotdogs. He expresses his passion for all the teachers in the school district.

“We have some of the finest teachers not only in the state of Iowa, but in the world working here. They are a dedicated group of teachers, they’re caring, they want their kids to succeed, they’re knowledgeable on their content and it’s a true blessing to get to work with all of them. A lot of my success as a principal is directly related to the great staff that I have in my middle school’s building. So I’m very thankful for them.”

Menke praises the parents/guardians for doing a great job allowing their children to be open to learning and for offering their support through this week with personal letters and gift baskets.
