
Perry track and field traveled to State Center last night for the coed Heart of Iowa Conference meet. The Jayettes were a top four squad while the Bluejays claimed eighth.
The girl’s meet was won by Roland-Story with 166 team points. Second place went to PCM with 122 and Greene County slid into third with 94. Perry ended with 84 points.
The Jayettes were led by gold medal winners in the 800 Medley Relay (1:55.75) and Lily Myers in the 400M Hurdles. Cate Erickson finished second in the 400M (1:02.38) as did the relay teams in the 4x400M (4:16.46) and 1600 Medley (4:36.37).
The boy’s side went to PCM with 159 points. Rounding out the top three was Nevada with 138.5 and Roland-story with 116.5.
The Bluejays top finisher was Owen Myers in the 400M Hurdles (56.95), where he took first. The senior added a fourth place finish in the 110M Hurdles (15.88).
The regular season has concluded for Perry track and field. Next up is the State Qualifying Meet in Winterset on Thursday, May 15.
