
Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center students who took part in the musical “The Sound of Music” have received awards from the Iowa High School Musical Theatre.
According to the school, AC/GC was one of over 100 schools who participated in the 2024-25 IHSMT Awards, and received five awards. As a group, they were one of 15 schools to receive Outstanding Overall Performance, and one of 24 schools that received Outstanding Ensemble, and were the smallest public school to receive either award. Emmarae Ellis received Outstanding Achievement in a Principal Role as Maria, and Ava Campbell received the same award as Liesl, while Rohnin Grasty received Special Recognition in a Principal Role as Captain Von Trapp.
The IHSMT Awards Showcase will take place May 29th at 7pm at the Civic Center in Des Moines, where all of this year’s award recipients will be recognized. Tickets will be available for purchase starting May 16th at 10am, and can be purchased either online at DMPA.org or by calling the ticket office at 515-246-2300.
