The Adel City Council will meet in regular session on Tuesday.

The council will have a second reading on an ordinance to amend section 156 relating to the adoption of building codes for the purpose of deleting section 423 for storm shelters in the City of Adel. The board will consider taking action to approve the ordinance.

Other items on the agenda seeking approval include a resolution to amend the current budget for fiscal year ending June 30th, 2025, a resolution for 2024-25 budget transfers, a resolution for a preliminary plat of Southbridge Plat 11, a resolution for a pre-annexation agreement between the City of Adel and Joseph E. and Claire Welter, a resolution to amend an agreement for audit services, and an acceptance of the Adel Sports Complex Master Plan.

The council will also receive updates on the public safety needs assessment firm selection and on the street committee’s recommendation for the Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance’s Safety Action Plan.

The meeting is taking place Tuesday evening at 6pm over at Adel City Hall, 301 S. 10th Street.
