There is an important deadline coming up on Thursday.

Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage tells Raccoon Valley Radio that those wishing to show livestock at the Adair County and Iowa State Fairs will need to turn in animal identification forms.

“All animals planning on coming to the fair need to be identified by May 15th in order to be eligible to show. This includes everything except for rabbit, poultry, and cats. So if you have a dog, a horse, sheep, goat, swine, whatever it may be, those animals must be identified by May 15th in order to be eligible.”

Savage mentions that Thursday is also the deadline for registering for 4-H, so those continuing their enrollment and those joining the program need to have that done as well. She adds that to get signed up for 4-H, members just need to go to 4honline.com.
