The Greene County High School girls’ soccer team dropped a pair of games on Saturday at the Creston Panther Invitational without scoring a goal in either contest. Head coach Wes Anderson missed the action due to obligations as the Rams’ instrumental music director, so assistant coach Shelby Mincy took over coaching duties.

The Rams lost to Creston 7-0 in round one, then fell to Central Iowa United, a combination of schools based in State Center at West Marshall, by a 2-0 final. The Rams are now 0-13 this season with a total of five goals scored. Coach Mincy told Raccoon Valley Radio “It was a hot one today, but the girls came and played tough. The girls did such a great job considering we were missing some key starters, and the weather was very hot!”

Saturday was a warm day in Creston with a high temperature of 84 degrees.
