The Jefferson City Council will meet tomorrow evening.

The Council will schedule a public hearing date for the current fiscal year budget amendment, and then they will consider several resolutions pertaining to proposed amendments to the Urban Renewal Plan. The Council is expected to set a public hearing date for those changes to include the former middle school, Greenewood and the golf course, south of Greenewood Drive; and lands on East Lincoln Way and the area to the north. The Council also set another public hearing to create a Blight District within the Urban Renewal Area, and the final public hearing on vacating an alleyway at the former middle school area. 

Additionally, the Council will consider for approval a resolution to amend a grant agreement between Iowa Economic Development Authority and the city for a $600,000 downtown housing grant in order to complete the apartment conversion project at the former middle school. They will also consider approving a facade grant for the Greene County Historical Society, a resolution to authorize submitting a grant application to the Iowa Department of Transportation to remove the current fuel system at the airport, and two 28E agreements for the recycling program with the cities of Rippey and Dana. Finally, the Council will consider for approval the 27th pay estimate for work completed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant improvement project.
