As the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Track and Field Teams prepare for the state qualifying meet on Thursday, Girls Coach Bart Mueller reflects on his favorite moments to this point.
ADM was named the Raccoon River Conference champions for the boys and girls in their latest contest this past Thursday. For the Lady Tigers, this was the fifth consecutive year they won the conference meet, and Coach Mueller says the team has a lot of dedicated individuals who work hard to achieve their goals, but are also supportive of their teammates.
He shares that the senior group is special as they’ve witnessed much success over the past four years, including bringing the first state title to ADM last year. He admires their work ethic, but is impressed by the underclassmen as well.
“They’ve been improving and they’ve been filling in some of those gaps. We have some optimism for next year, too. It’s going to be tough to follow up with this group, but we have some talent coming back and some really good athletes that keep getting better, and so it’s been a fun year.”
The Tigers have 10 seniors on their team as they will attempt to lead the charge during the Class 3A State Qualifying Meet in Glenwood on Thursday, which begins at 4pm.
