graduation

The three high schools in Guthrie County will be holding their commencement ceremonies on Sunday.

Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that there will be 51 high school graduates on Sunday, with the commencement ceremony to take place at 1pm in the high school gymnasium, with High School Government/History Teacher Bob Bolton as the guest speaker. Rasmussen mentions that his favorite part of the ceremony is seeing the seniors walk across the stage, and seeing their families celebrate this great accomplishment.

Panorama Superintendent Kasey Huebner states that there are 47 seniors graduating at their ceremony at 1pm in the high school auditorium. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio his favorite part seeing the seniors receive their diplomas.

“It’s just a heck of a celebration, not only for the staff here, but for the kids and their families. It’s really fun to see that all come together. And the appreciative comments you always get as a school district, those comments are always right back at them because when you’re talking education, it’s a two way street. To have a good experience, it’s got to be a good experience at school, but also have to have a good working relationship with the families. And that’s what we have here.”

West Central Valley Superintendent Rusty Shockley explains that they have 61 seniors that are expected to graduate, and will be having their commencement at 2pm in the high school gymnasium in Stuart, and that the class elected teacher David Doely to be their guest speaker. Shockley adds that his favorite part of graduation is realizing the culmination of growth for the students, and that it is always great to see so many family and friends come together to celebrate the graduates.
