Photos belong to the ADM Track and Field Teams
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Track and Field Teams competed in the Class 3A State Qualifying Meet in Glenwood on Thursday against seven other schools, advancing many to the state meet in Des Moines.
ADM girls won the meet with 173 points, while the boys were successful coming out with 189 points. The athletes that finish top two in each event automatically qualify for the state meet with the next eight individuals. Automatic qualifiers who captured first place for the Tigers include senior Corbin Reed in the 110 meters hurdles (14.41 seconds) and 400 meters hurdles (54.88 seconds), freshman Zane Johnson running a 22.19 in the 200 meters, senior Torin Timmerman (10:05.90) in the 3200 meter run, senior Kyler Chapman (6-02) in the high jump, then the relays of the 4×100, 4×110 meter shuttle hurdle, 4×200 meters, and the 4×400 meter relay.
Second place finishers going to the state for the boys include Johnson (11.09) in the 100 meter dash, senior Cameron Forgy (51.07) in the 400 meters, sophomore Reid Kluesner (6-02) in the high jump, Reed (20-06.50) in the long jump, then the boys 800 sprint medley relay and the 4×800 meter relay.
Automatic qualifiers on the girls side getting gold featured junior Elise Coghlan (14.65 seconds) in the 100 meter hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles (1:05.49), junior Lauren Hagedorn (128-05) in the discus throw, senior London Warmuth (5-04) in the high jump, senior Kennedy Stanford (40-00) in the shot put, then the 800 sprint medley relay, the 4×100 meter relay, the 4×100 meter shuttle hurdle, and the 4×400 meter relay.
Tiger girls who garnered second place finishes were senior Josi Dufoe (14.93) in the 100 meter hurdles, junior Brecken Morse (1:00.99) in the 400 meters, junior Taylor Braun (128-01) in the discus throw, along with the 4×200 meter relay and the distance medley relay.
All the athletes will compete at the state meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines May 22nd-24th. The full results from the state qualifying meet can be found below.
