The AC/GC Chargers boys and girls track and field teams took 1st and 7th respectively at the Class 1A State Qualifying Meet in Madrid last night.

The boys secured their first spot win with 125 team points, which included five gold, four silver and three bronze medals. The gold medals, and the events guaranteed to go to the State Meet, were secured by Brexton Schneider in the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 15.03, Tate Fever in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.52, the 4×100 meter relay team of Joe Crawford, Schneider, Luke Brincks and Eli Madsen with a time of 43.74, the shuttle hurdle team of Morgun Nolte, Fever, Tommy Skram and Schneider with a time of 1:01.09, and the 4×400 meter relay team of Brincks, Dean Vela, Fever and Madsen with a time of 3:29.83.

The girls team collected 58 points for their seventh place finish, with three gold medals and one bronze medal. The three top finishes came from Ava Campbell in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:21.86 and the 1500 meter run with 4:55.58, along with the distance medley relay team of Nora Langgaard, Meranda Gruber, Cadence Petersen and Campbell with a time of 4:21.49.

These eight events are guaranteed a trip to the Blue Oval, but there are some individuals who may advance if they had one of the next 14 best times after all the qualifying site champions. This includes Fever in the 110 meter high hurdles. Full scoring results can be found below.
