The Des Moines Area Community College VanKirk Career Academy in Perry will soon provide a program to help adults with computer skills.

Director Eddie Diaz mentions the institution will offer a free Digital Literacy course this summer that will focus on assisting adults to acquire essential computer skills for the current job market. He notes the classes will cover basic computer functions like email and navigating the internet safely and effectively. Diaz highlights the program is a non-credit, open enrollment course for anyone to register as there are no prerequisites or previous computer experience required.

The class will hold its first meeting this coming Monday from 6-8pm at the VanKirk Career Academy, 1011 2nd Street, in Perry. Diaz says that the meetings will continue each Monday until June 23rd. For more information and to register, click here.
