Perry is set to compete in four events at the 2025 Iowa High School Track and Field State Meet.  The Bluejays and Jayettes attended the coed Sectional meet in Winterset on Thursday.

Owen Myers will be making his third straight trip to Des Moines and competing at Drake Stadium in the 400M Hurdles.  The senior finished first in Winterset with a time of 55.36.

The Jayettes will be sending the same four girls who ran at State last year in the Distance Medley this year.  Cate Erickson, Treasure Moore, Lily Myers, and Taryn Nehring will all have a chance to improve last year’s 23rd finish.  Lily Myers will also be competing alone in the 400M Hurdles.  She claimed second with a time of 1:07.29.  Perry added bronze medal finishes in the Girls 4X400M and the 200M.  Treasure Moore earns a wildcard slot and advances to State with her time of 26.48.  Unfortunately, the team of Nehring, Erickson, Moore, and Myers wouldn’t be quick enough to qualify in the 4X400M (4:15.19).

Overall, the girls placed sixth with 48.5 team points.  Pella won the event with 234 and Bondurant-Farrar claimed the second spot with 138.

The boy’s meet saw Pella win with 235 followed by Winterset with 137.  The Bluejays captured fifth with 46 team points.

The State Tournament begins on Thursday, May 22 and will run through Saturday, May 24.
