The state of Iowa has been relatively dry so far during the month of May, causing drought conditions in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area to remain the same.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, all of Greene County is completely out of drought, along with Dallas and Guthrie Counties, with only the southeast portion of Dallas County and the majority of the western half of Guthrie County is abnormally dry. Looking at the entire state, the northern, western, southern, and eastern borders are dealing with drought, while most of the middle part of Iowa is not suffering from drought conditions.
