An organization in the Midwest will be making an appearance in Perry tomorrow before leaving on a week-long tour.
Hotel Pattee will be the starting point of the Model T Historic Hotels Tour. According to Vice President of the National Model T Ford Club of America David Peitz, the Heart of the Ozarks Model T Club, of Springfield, Missouri, will have 10 vehicles on display tomorrow at Hotel Pattee around 6pm.
He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the club will leave Perry on Monday morning at 8am to visit four hotels across Iowa and making stops in Mason City at Historic Park Inn, Decorah at Hotel Winneshiek, Dubuque at Hotel Julien, and Amana Colonies at Hotel Millwright, before returning to Hotel Pattee on Friday evening. Peitz is excited to visit the Hawkeye state.
“The hotels have a lot of really interesting history with them. For some reason Iowa is not real heavily toured in Model T’s. And the people that I have coming with me, we’re all very excited just to be driving in Iowa, to see the countryside.”
Peitz notes that if people miss the opportunity to see the Model T vehicles tomorrow in Perry, then the club will bring them back out for display on Friday, May 23rd when they return to Hotel Pattee in the evening around 5pm.
