Both Paton-Churdan and Greene County are holding their respective graduation ceremonies this weekend.

The Class of 2025 with P-C will have their commencement ceremony this afternoon at 2pm at the school building in Churdan. Principal Annie Smith talks about what she will miss the most with these seniors.

“They’ve been a class that has not been afraid to challenge. You know, it’s good to challenge, as long as you’re doing it respectfully, and I appreciate that. I really think that those are great things, again as long as  it’s done the right way, and they’ve done that. And so, they’ve helped me to continue to think outside the box and remember that we don’t always have to do it one way, we could do it a lot of different ways. So, I am going to miss that with them. And then just of course the connections that I’ve made with these kiddos.”

Greene County High School seniors will celebrate the end of their high school careers with their graduation ceremony tomorrow at 2pm at the high school gym. Superintendent Brett Abbotts gives this advice to those individuals who will officially enter the real world following tomorrow’s commencement ceremony.

“Thank you for leaving your mark and your legacy with and on our school district. We have a lot of fantastic kids, some who participate in activities and some who didn’t, that accomplished a lot of really great things over their four-plus years that they spent with Greene County (Schools). So, remember where you came from, remember what you were taught and don’t be afraid to come back, especially for those that might be going into an education program, that might want to come back and teach in our schools.”

Abbotts was additionally proud of the record-setting amount of scholarship money that was given at the Senior Awards Night of over $384,000 and thanked the community for always supporting the students of the Greene County School District.
