The Perry Fine Arts is bringing in a younger musical group to town with a free concert tomorrow.
Chairperson Cathy Clark reveals that the Heartland Youth Choir is taking the stage at the Performing Arts Center, 1200 18th Street, tomorrow afternoon at 2pm. She indicates the program permits youth to pursue a particular aptitude in vocal music to explore their interest beyond the school setting. Clark illustrates that the Heartland Youth Choir last came to Perry in 2017, and is looking forward to this new rendition of students.
“It’s been a long time since they’ve been here, so it’ll be a totally different group of students. I know that several students from the Perry area have participated in this choir. I know that (Perry Choir Director) Jenn Hillman has had students in this choir and also her daughters have been in the choir too.”
Clark notes that both the cantamus choir with junior high students and the chamber choir consisting of eighth to twelfth graders, will be performing. The concert is open to the public and will be available to experience for free.
