In some of their recent meetings, the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors approved the Secondary Roads Department’s Five Year Construction Plan.

Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern says that the program is something that every county has to go over, and that it usually happens towards the end of a fiscal year. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio what the program is all about.

“It’s something that we have to do every year. So kind of a misnomer there, but it’s something to help us plan largely for construction projects. Some of our bigger construction projects go through this federal dollars that we spend on bridges or highways goes through the five year program. It’s a administrative program. So it’s something that we work through and diagnose projects and get them listed in there.”

Sebern mentions that a couple of the bigger projects that have been included in the five year plan are work to County Road P48 between Stuart and Panora, along with White Pole Road from Stuart to the western border of the county.
