Gusty conditions across the state of Iowa caused some damage in the Perry area late Monday.
According to Minburn Fire Chief Dan Case, wind gusts of close to 50 miles per hour knocked down large tree limbs in northern Dallas County, with one confirmed tree down in Perry. He reports that there were multiple power lines that fell in Perry with the strong winds. Case adds that there were several electrical outages northwest of Minburn.
Dallas County Emergency Management Coordinator AJ Seely reminds residents to find immediate shelter with strong winds and to bring outside furniture inside for safety. The National Weather Service is predicting a 70 percent chance of rain on Tuesday.
