The baseball season officially begins today for the West Central Valley Wildcats as the Wildcats travel to Audubon Community Schools for opening day against the Wheelers.

Last season, the Wildcats finished the season with a 7-22 record but would make it to the Class 2A substate quarterfinals falling to Clarinda. Now sophomore Colton Lindsay lead the team in hits last season with 26 and returns alongside now senior Tyson Partlow on the mound who lead the team in wins and strikeouts.

West Central Valley looks to bring up some support from the underclassmen as six eighth graders will be pulled up. Bryson Hadfield, Caden Lane, Miles Sheeler, Drew Teague, Carson Tigges and Ashton Wahlert make their high school debut today with the Wildcats.
