Those looking to compete in horse and dog events at the Adair County Fair have an opportunity to learn about those events
Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that the Extension, along with the Adair County Fair Horse and Dog Superintendents are holding training workshops for those participating in those events. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio where to go for the horse workshops.
“So if you’re thinking of showing horse, you can trailer your horse out (to the horse barn on the Adair County Fairgrounds), do some practice there in the arena with our horse superintendent and helpers. Maybe you want to just come watch a horse practice and see what it’s all about. Come join us. Don’t hesitate. 6:30pm to 7:30pm every Wednesday going forward until the Adair County Fair.”
Savage mentions that dog training workshops will take place at the Adair County Fairgrounds from 6-7:30pm, with the first one to be Thursday, with the rest to take place weekly on Mondays until the Adair County Fair. She adds that there will not be a dog class on May 26th due to Memorial Day.
