A middle school student has been selected to have their self-made design as a prominent feature for upcoming elections in Dallas County.

According to County Auditor Todd Halbur, seventh grader Olin Jepsen is the winner of the inaugural 2025 “I Voted” Sticker Contest. Back in March, Halbur was looking for a way to get more youth involved in the election process and came up with the idea to have sixth through eighth grade students in Dallas County create an “I Voted” sticker to be used for upcoming elections.

He reveals that there were 10 submissions for the contest, which was whittled down to five by the auditor’s office before a public vote was cast from April 14th through May 11th. Halbur tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he is anticipating seeing more designs in the future.

“I think this is our first step. I think that people see what it is and what is created by our youth, and I think more conversations will happen about ‘you should submit a submission as well or think about it.’ And then I think they’ll be more as we go down in the years here, and I just think it’s a great way for Dallas County to get involved with all sorts of youth and older voters as well.”

Halbur indicates that Jepsen’s sticker will be handed out to voters at the polls in Dallas County this November for the city/school elections, and that Jepsen and his family will be recognized during an upcoming Dallas County Board of Supervisors meeting on June 10th.
