After Monday’s weather postponement, the Greene County High School girls’ soccer team traveled to Harlan Tuesday afternoon and faced the Cyclones of Harlan Community in a first round regional Class 1A soccer match. The Cyclones won 12-0 in one half of play by the 10 goal rule, which ends the contest at halftime or later when a team leads by 10 or more goals.

Coach Wes Anderson’s team ended the season 0-16 while the Cyclones improved to 9-8-1. Lucy Vander Linden had 10 saves in goal for the Rams. The coach said, “We were able to create three scoring chances against a team almost as strong as Nevada. Amelia Gallagher and Nala Losee were both very close. Our three chances, and Lucy Vander Linden’s saves were definitely a highlight, but we struggled to keep up with Harlan’s speed.”
