Perry track will be running in four events at the 2025 Iowa High School Track and Field Championships.  Coach Matt Hardy is happy to see his girls represented in three of those events.  The Jayettes haven’t had this many qualifiers in a long time.

I think we’ve got the best numbers that we’ve had in recent years and we’ve also got the best caliber athletes we’ve had in recent years.  A lot of them are multi-sport athletes that have made a commitment to the weight room.”

Treasure Moore will run the 200M Thursday morning at 10:40A.  The junior qualified as an at- large bid and wasn’t sure she’d make it.

“I was really just praying a lot.  I was talking to my parents a lot.  Originally, I didn’t.”

Moore is happy to be a State.

“I hope to PR and hopefully not get dead last.”

Another individual for the Jayettes is Lily Myers, who will be running the 400M Hurdles on Friday.  The sophomore will be running at noon.

I would really like to win my heat.  I have a really good lane assignment and I think a really good opportunity for a really good race.”

Twenty minutes after Lily, her older brother Owen Myers will take the track for the 400M Hurdles.  The three time State Qualifier finished in 19th last year.

Third time back, I know my way around the place now and I know I have previous experience there so I mean this is the time to do anything if I’m going to.  Hopefully I can earn a medal.”

The Jayettes will also run Friday morning in the Distance Medley.  Moore, Myers, Cate Erickson, and Taryn Nehring will team up and try and best last year’s 23rd place at State.
