Following a fire that burned down a home in Perry, the owners are trying to rebuild it.

Deb and Jon Jamison lost their home, at 12360 K Drive, on Sunday, May 18th after it was completely destroyed from a fire. According to Perry Fire Chief Grason Hill, Jon cited that they had an active fire in the firepit on Saturday night and went to bed without putting it out because they assumed it would be fine until the morning.

Hill elaborates that Jon woke up a little before 4am that Sunday morning to hear windows breaking and found the whole front porch of the house was engulfed in flames. Hill believes that with the strong winds, it pushed fire onto the dry deck and ultimately started the fire. He adds that no one was hurt during the incident.

A GoFundMe page has been set up seeking monetary donations for immediate needs such as clothing, food and other essentials, while the Jamison’s look to rebuild their home. To help contribute to this effort, the link to the GoFundMe is available here.
