The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School Boards met in a regular joint session Wednesday night.

Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that the Boards heard a presentation by the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Club about their trip to Orlando, Florida for their national competition. Then following that, they jointly approved the 2025-26 teacher master contracts and activity sponsor contracts. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they also purchased an elementary reading curriculum.

“Our literacy team in our elementary buildings went ahead and did spend a lot of work, went and visited other schools and we’re really trying to find a curriculum that would work for our students and for our staff in both the Adair Casey and Guthrie Center elementary buildings. After a long, I guess, look at many different curriculums, they landed on ‘Wit and Wisdom.’”

Rasmussen mentions that the boards also jointly approved an Area Education Agency (AEA) special education contract. He adds that the AC Board approved lockbox access at one of their banks, a resolution awarding contract and bonds for the roof project at the AC Elementary and AC/GC Junior High building, along with the district printing contract. The GC Board then approved the 2025 driver’s education contract, a 2025-26 Heartland AEA lease agreement for the use of a room in the high school, a new modified high school schedule, and the senior trip for the Class of 2026.
