1500x500-2

Bluejays’ bats out hit Ogden in Perry home opener, but fell 4-2.  Perry pitching surrenders just two hits in the loss.

Lead off base runners cost the Bluejays four runs.  A lead off walk in the first, third, and fifth all came around to score for the Bulldogs.  They also used a lead off error in the second to score.  Perry used a two out rally in the sixth for their two runs.  Gabriel Beato, Reid Iben, and Mason Hayes  would all single.  Hayes’ hit brought in the first Perry run.  Juan Beato was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Gauge Freeman, who would line a single to right field for the second run.  The rally would end with a strike out by Geren Kenney with the bases loaded.

Kenney finished the night with two hits.  Hayes and Freeman each had an RBI.

Hayes suffered the loss pitching four innings with one earned run, walking three, striking out eight, and surrendering one hit.

Colson Carson picked up the complete game win.  The junior struck out four, hit three batters, gave up seven hits and two earned runs.

Perry finished their first week of competitions at 0-2 with the loss to Ogden.  The Bluejays return to action on Tuesday hosting Boone.
