Live musical concerts from the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower in Jefferson kicks off on Memorial Day.

According to the Mahanay Music Coordinator Peg Raney, Mahanay Maestro Shelly Berger will perform this season’s first Tower Tunes Live concert on Memorial Day from 12:15-12:30pm. Raney says after the first performance, there will be continual Tower Tunes Live concerts every Wednesday through Labor Day from 12:15-12:30pm. She is looking for other Mahanay Maestros to play on the carillon keyboard from the bell tower. 

Raney points out that interested individuals must first complete a nomination form and then be approved by the Greene County Board of Supervisors. The musicians can select their own music to play and training will be provided to properly use the equipment. Raney adds that there is no monetary compensation for being a Mahanay Maestro, but their contributions are deeply appreciated throughout the community. Click here to access a nomination form.
