Day two of the state track championships concluded as the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs track teams found success on the Blue Oval. Junior Darien Walker would place first in the boys 110 meter hurdles premlims with a time of 14.17, setting the tone for the Mustangs.

Four more relay teams would compete on Friday for the Mustangs as the boys 1600m sprint medley time would bring home the bronze, placing as Chase Heitland, Ethan Carlson, Hudson Rude and Jack Meggison would cross the finish line in 3:26.91. The girls sprint medley would also compete, finishing in 14th with a time of 4:16.93.

Two more boys relay teams would compete, as the 4x100m relay team would place 20th in the prelims while the boys 4x200m relay team would place 21st with a time of 1:32.25.

In individual events, Darien Walker looks to continue to find success in the boys 110m hurdles placing first in the prelims, while Jason Kalk would finish in 23rd with a time of 18.27. In the boys 400m hurdles, Andrew Senne would place 21st with a new personal best time of 56.39. To round it out for the Mustangs, Elijah Gaie would place 10th in long jump, with a jump of 21 feet 3.5 inches.
