Last week the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs kick off the 2025 season with three games in total, facing off against the Urbandale J-Hawks in double header action on Wednesday, then the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars on Thursday.
Tate Perrin would close out both games on the mound on Wednesday against the J-Hawks, as the Mustangs split the decision defeating Urbandale 6-4 in the first game, then falling 5-4 in the second. In an exciting fashion, Taitn Gray would hit his first home run of the season against the J-Hawks in the second game.
In the first three games so far, Cross Bandy currently leads the team in hits with four in 10 at bats. Senior outfielder Alec Isenhart has also found success early on in the season, with two recorded hits in seven at bats.
DCG baseball returns to action on Tuesday as the Mustangs travel to ADM High School to face off against the Tigers. Play by play coverage begins on KDLS2 at 6:50pm.
