Kaycee Pittman

Greene County junior Kaycee Pittman ran the 800 meters on Saturday at the Coed State Track & Field Meet in Des Moines at Drake Stadium. This was Pittman’s third straight trip to State as an individual in the 800 meters, and she has improved her time each year. On Saturday, Pittman ran 2:23.01 and placed eighteenth in Class 2A after qualifying with the twenty-second fastest qualifying time. She turned in a personal best performance and was just two seconds off the Jefferson-based record for that distance.

Greene County had 10 events at State, five for girls and five for boys, and two of the events placed in the top eight and earned team points. Senior Emma Ewalt was sixth in the discus throw at 123 feet, 11 inches, and Broc Stream was seventh in the long jump with a best effort of 21 feet, one and one-half inches.
