
There’s some new champions from the 2025 Iowa High School State Track and Field Meet from over the weekend, and four of them are from Guthrie County.
On day one of the State Meet, the Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Chargers shuttle hurdle relay team claimed the top spot in the preliminary round of the event, finishing in 1:00.37 seconds. Sophomore Morgun Nolte, and juniors Tate Fever, Tommy Skram and Brexton Schneider broke the AC/GC school record for the event with that time, but turned around and on Saturday, broke it again. The quartet took on some of the toughest competition across the state, and once again finished in first place, securing the gold medal with a time of 59.94 seconds. The win also helped secure a crucial 10 team points, allowing the boys team to come in second place overall for the meet out of 57 teams in Class 1A.
